  • 1. Yes

    2. Yes

    3. No. I bring my own.

    4. No

    Hope this answers your question!

  • 1- Yes (I try to take her every day)

2- They are okay..(just worried about the aggressive dogs, and infections)

3- No way. My dog doesn't even want to. He sniffs it and just walks away.

4- No. I have all my flea, tick, medications, vaccinations, and worm preventatives.

    Cool survey!!

  • 1. Have you ever taken your dog to the dog park?
Yes - used to on a fairly regular basis

    2. Do you like dog parks?
I love the concept, but irresponsible owners ruin the experience.

    3. Do you let the dogs drink out of the water bowl there?
    I bring my own.

    4. Has your dog ever got something (fleas, worms, or infection) from a dog park?
No, but I used proper preventative.

I stopped going after I met a Parvo puppy who's owner had taken him to the DP to make him feel better. I also get to read all the stool samples from people who bring their dogs to the park without proper prevention, set up antibiotics for the kennel cough that's going around, clean up lacerations from agressive dogs... the DP is an ugly place for stupid people.

  • 1. Yes their are 2 dog parks near my house.
2.yes they are fun for my dogs and it gets their energy out.
3.yes they get thirsty and thats the only way to get water for them thier.
    4.nope!

  • 1. Once...

    2. No, too many irresponsible owners who let their dangerous mutts run free.

    3. Heavens NO! (Parvo anyone?) I brought my own colapsable bowl and canteen for him.

    4. An infection; he got bit in the leg. I had to kick the other dog off of him (and mine was on a leash! I would have picked him up, but a 70lb HuskyxGSD is NOT easy to lift!). My dog had to limp around the house for a while because his leg ended up swollen from infection. The meds to get him right again weren't cheap either.

  • You have to remember that as soon as dogs mix with other dogs there is always the likelihood of a cross-infection.l recommend that if your pet is fully immunized for parvo, distemper and kennel cough and you are vigilant about flea treatments then you will no issues.l show dogs and do obedience end breed so of course l am prone too all the above as there are lots of people that do not do the right thing and never make that assumption. If you have a very young puppy do not take it to these parks until it is fully inoculated and you can trust it with other dogs as being young it will be the bottom of the pecking order. There are so many brands of flea control of the market that now days it is rare to have to flea rinse a dog.In regards to drinking from the water bowl there,NEVER do that as you do not know if some dog had lapped up the water and infected it. cCarry a material type water bowl which you can stuff in a jacket or something and some people actually strap jackets on the back of their dogs with all the essentials. The only thing my dogs were unfortunate to get and this was at a huge dog show was kennel cough and although inoculated they can still catch this as it is air borne virus.I f you are vigilant and you obviously are protect your animal as it is precious to you and you do not want to end up with vet bills because of someone Else's negligence.Have fun with your dog,

  • 1. Yes

    2. Depends on who is there. A lot of people bring their rude dogs there and when a dog tells them off they deem that dog to be aggressive when it is really the rude dog and owner of that dog causing a problem.

    3. Depends on the water. If I get it, yes, if not, depends on what it looks like.

    4. No. I have seen dogs get bitten, but the altercations between most dogs is not meant to hurt other dogs. It is meant to avoid a conflict. So the little scary scuffle is really a loud agruement with bite inhibition by both involved. A dog looking to attack usually can not be stopped, these altercations I have witnessed are stopped soon after they start.

  • 1. Occasionally

    2. My 3 little boys just love them, they can run freely for hours.

    3. No! I bring my own water bowl and water.

    4. No! The only thing my little guys have got was new friends

My boys have been properly vaccinated and they also carry city tags. I usually take my boys to the park earlier in the mornings when it is cool and less people. Our dog park has 3 sections; 1 for large dogs, 1 for small dogs and the 3rd section is for dogs that do not get along with other dogs.

Its like anything else, you have to be on your guard, if there seems to be a problem, leave immediately ~ Our dog park has strict rules and there is usually an attendant on duty during business hours.

  • 1. No

    2. No

    3. I would not.

    4. No because I would not take them.

I do know several people that have dogs that took them when they KNEW they had parasites, or had diarrhea, or something like that. That is why I would not take mine. Not everyone is responsible.

  • 1. Yes, whenever I can. I may just take them today.

    2. I do, they are a good area for dogs to socialise.

    3. Only after I've wiped it out and refilled it.

    4. Not that I've noticed, but I keep my dogs on regular worming and flea control. As do most of the owners who take their dogs there.

There is actually a group of dog owners who go to the dog park every day at around 4-5pm where I live, and their dogs all know each other and are all very social and welcome any other dogs into the group by playing and barking, etc.

    It's great fun.

  • 1. Have you ever taken your dog to the dog park?\

    All the time!

    2. Do you like dog parks?

Absolutely! Lots of socialization, with dogs and people. And also the exercise factor is great.

    3. Do you let the dogs drink out of the water bowl there?

I wish they wouldn't but I don't stress about it. They are completely up to date on thier shots. Besides that, I think that most people who visit parks are pretty responsible. (of course there are always those who ruin it...)

    4. Has your dog ever got something (fleas, worms, or infection) from a dog park?

    Never.

  • 1. No never will

    2. NO they are a breeding ground for disease. Alot (not all) of irresponsible owners that do not know how to control there dog or might stand their dumb founded should a dog fight break out.
If a dog fight breaks out then all the other dogs will most likely join in.

To many stupid things could happen.

I have several breeds in my home. I will not set any of them up to fail.
Responsible owners set up supervised playdates with dogs they know.

  • 1. Yes

    2. For some dogs they are great, for some they are a bad idea.

    3. No

    4. No

  • 1. No, never will.

    2. No.

    3. Would never.

    4. My parent's Chocolate Labrador died from Parvo from being walked in one every day, and several of my friends all over the country have similar stories.

  • 1. Yes

    2. I do, but more importantly, my dog does.

    3. Yes, everyone shares water. But, my dog rarely drinks the water there.

    4. No, my dog is vaccinated, hasn't caught worms, or gotten an infection.
