I have a Caucasian friend whose parents would like to adopt. That was their dream from the beginning of their relationship even though they have 3 kids on their own. They don't care what race the child will be they just want to adopt a boy, because they have 3 girls. The family always knew that and supported them. But the mother's stepfather, meaning the man that raised her, and married to her mom from when she was young said if they adopt a black child, he will not allow the child in his house, as a matter of fact if they adopt child of different race than them he will divorce the mother. This is outrageous and the couple is upset and is not sure how to handle the situation. They didn't know he didn't like other races, I'm black and have been to this man's house. He always has an attitude with me but we thought he was just disgruntle, miserable old man come to find out he hates my skin color too! If you were in this couple's situation, how would you handle it?I would give the child i adopted of any race love and happiness.It doesn't matter the race they all need love and it would be his choice to be in my child's life but you could bet you're sweet a** he would not have anything to do with my other kids if he didn't want something to do with my youngest child.I can't believe that this woman would tolerate this racist pig! If he told me he would divorce me because I was going to adopt a baby of color, I would tell him, there is the door, get out. He just proved how ignorant he is!I would consider telling my mom, "Sorry, but I have to do what I feel is right and this is my dream and has been for a long time. If you have to cut ties with me to maintain ties to your husband because of it then I feel your pain and I will miss you. But I can only control my life, not his and not yours."If someone disrespected my baby, I would bash their damn face in. I think I would confront him and say sorry but this has always been my dream and if you don't agree then you should learn how to....if he says he doesn't want to then your friend should do what she wants.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
