My parents have a Chocolate Labrador, and she's a year and a half old. Really sweet, but obnoxious dog. She seriously is the most dominant dog I have ever seen. The past few months, she lifts her leg up to urinate like a male dog would, regardless if she is in the middle of the yard or going on the side of a house.
Why is she doing that?I have a female APBT that does the same thing. She is also very dominant. I always just assumed it was part of her alpha temperment.It's more to mark territory. It's the doggie version of pee-mail. My vet also says it's 'cause she's comfortable, and not gender confused. Also, girl dogs don't have quite the aim of the boys, so they make a little more effort.You actually answered your own question! A few females with very dominant personalities do lift their legs - that's why she's doing it - because she's a dominant dog.kay, so not only male dogs lift their legs up to pee. the actual reason they do that is to mark their territory and show their dominance. since ur saying she is "seriously the most dominant dog u have ever seen", that explains it! she's showing her dominance like a wolf pack leader would do. some advice would be to show her who's boss, and definitely NOT her. lol.
