So I live in Southern California and I was wondering if I should do cheerleading in high school or try out for the dance team. I was a cheerleader all throughout middle school and I dance in musicals. Also, which one is cheaper?Dance team! Cheerleaders start to worry about how they look to much. They become OBSESSED with themselves.If it's a school thing it's probably free exept the cheer leading out fit. Why not both? I personally like dance better, but I always wanted to be a cheerleader. For you i'd say cheerleading cause it just sound like you got more experience. eBeut if you wanna expand your learning, go with dance.Both will keep you in good physical shape. I would choose dance team because with dance you can convey more than one emotion. You can also eventually look into scholarships because there are way more cheerleaders than dancers out there (including myself :] ). Don't base it off of cost, but cheerleading will probably be cheaper.
You can try talking to the coaches for the cheerleading team and the dance team to see the costs or if it is possible for you can do both.

And cheerleading is a cheaper sport but with dance team it costs a lot in the beginning (or at least this is how it is for my dance team) but over time you won't have to pay so much because you already have the things you need.
Its really hard to base something off of costs. With me, both are at different seasons so I don't have to worry about picking and choosing. well if it were me then i would do the dance team because i have lways loved to dance and i believe you will get more out of it. If you want to be really popular then go with the cheerleading because everyone will wish that they were your friend. cheerleading is probably cheaper but they are both pretty expensive. Dancing can cost a lot but it can also not cost very much... it all depends on what type of dancing you want to do. if you do ballet, tap, and jazz then it could get expensive! but if you do it as like recreational dance then it is not very expensive and cheerleading would cost a lot more!
GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE I HELPEDdance team, for sure. i'm on my schools team and from what other dancers have said that used to be cheerleaders, dancing is less expensive. plus, dancing is fresh and fun, and cheerleading is very repetitive.you should check with the sponsors to see which is cheaper. depending on what you are required to purchase will change costs. at my school cheerleading is a lot more expensive.
you dance in musicals, but do you have previous training otherwise? was it hard to get on the cheerleading team in middle school? do you tumble? some high school teams require tumbling to make the squad.
dance team will be more work than musical dancing, since roles are also given based on vocal talent (i know, i'm in musical and on one of the dance teams at my school). keep in mind that dance teams are a lot more specific than musicals, with complicated choreography. cheerleading is stiffer than traditional dance, and there are stunts.
please dont listen to people's stereotypes. being a cheerleader or dancer will not automatically make you conceded or popular. that will depend on personality and friend choice.
what did you like most about cheerleading? what do you like about dancing? no one but you can make the choice for you. you need to decide what you like better. both require intense practice, hard work, and passion.

None of the real dancers do cheerleading in middle school because they hate cheerleaders and they love dance like a billion times better. So all the really good people will be doing dance team and if you don't actually do like dance 5 days a week like the good dancers do since they were like 9 you won't make it. I know my schools not like that because all the people who think they can dance do the dance team and they suck so the others just stick with doing 5 days of dance and competitions every weekend and stuff.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
